Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative: Grant Coordinator

My name is Terrico Johnson, and I have been working in the Missouri Bootheel for over four years now. I currently work on the Bootheel Babies and Families (BBF) Infant Mortality Collaboration Grant. I am extremely excited to be working on such an important project and very eager to work with different agencies and organizations within the Bootheel region to reduce infant mortality. Along with decreasing infant mortality, we will work to link families in the Bootheel region with local, county, state, and federal resources to help improve the lives of Bootheel residents. Previously, I worked with adults and children in the Bootheel on diabetes and obesity prevention. I worked closely with faith-based organizations, local afterschool programs, and head start centers to teach families about the importance of nutrition and physical activities to ensure we are all living a healthier lifestyle. Prior to working on diabetes and obesity prevention, I previously worked as a Youth Specialist with the Department of Youth Services (DYS) and Children’s Division as child abuse and neglect investigator both for the State of Missouri.
