Our Staff

Ms. Jessie Polk is the Health Careers Coordinator for Southeastern Missouri Area Health Education Center (SEMO AHEC) and has been with the company for 5 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Healthcare Management through Devry University. She currently works with local high school and middle school students to peak an increased interest in the health care fields through foundational topics such as communications, academic foundations, ethics, legal responsibility and many others as well as hands on activities: Dissections, MASH Camps, and workshops, etc.
Jessie loves working in the community and helping those who have expressed an interest in health care and being a guiding point to help those who may not have a champion. She enjoys when her students look at an activity and says, “I am not going to do that” or “I CAN’T do something like that” and as the activity progresses those very students who didn’t think that they could, DO! Working at SEMO AHEC provides the outlet to give back to my community and be a part of something so much bigger than I am.

Jessie has a set of twins, and they enjoy traveling, reading and being around family and friends.
